ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Officers with the Rochester Police Department are investigating a shooting that took place Sunday just after midnight.

Officers learned the victim who was shot was on the phone with 911 saying he was driving himself to Rochester General Hospital. Officers met the victim at RGH and say the 20-year-old victim was shot at least one time in his lower body. His injury is not considered life-threatening.

According to the RPD, the victim is not a resident of Monroe County. Officers say the victim was less than cooperative with officers by refusing to indicate exactly where in the city he was when he was shot.

“The investigation revealed he was in his car when he was shot, but the location is still unknown,” officers said.

The RPD asks anyone with additional information to call 911.
