Cool Sweep enacted in Rochester Wednesday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Folks in Rochester have options when it comes to beating the hot and humid weather Wednesday.

Rochester Mayor Malik Evans announced Tuesday, a Cool Sweep operation will take place Wednesday. This means local R-Centers, spray parks, pools and libraries will be open – some with extended hours.

Here’s a list of places available for people to cool off and their respective hours:

Rochester R-Centers:

• Adams, 85 Adams St.
• Avenue D, 200 Avenue D
• Carter, 500 Carter St.
• Frederick Douglass, 999 South Ave.
• Willie W. Lightfoot, 271 Flint St.
• David F. Gantt, 700 North St.
• Trenton and Pamela Jackson, 485 N. Clinton Ave.
• Thomas P. Ryan, 530 Webster Ave.
• Edgerton, 41 Backus St. (Closes at 5:30 p.m.)
• Rochester Community Sports Complex (RCSC), 460 Oak St. (Open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.)

Spray parks & features (open until 8:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted):
