ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Nearly one year after a double homicide on North Clinton Avenue in the City of Rochester, police are asking for the community’s help in locating a person of interest they feel could provide essential information to their investigation.
RPD posted photos of the man captured on surveillance footage on X ( formerly known as Twitter ) Thursday afternoon. Police say he acted reckless at the scene of the homicide and endangered the lives of others.
The shooting took place on North Clinton Avenue in Rochester last August. A total of five people were shot, two victims ultimately died. Police at the time said they were met by a crowd of people on scene.
Anthony Miller-Curry, 19, one of the two people killed last August, was the second child his mother Titiana lost to gun violence.
“You look for people to help you out. But everyone’s scared. Everyone’s traumatized from the incident that happened. And you know, you want justice, but you don’t know how to speak or help the person that’s been affected by it,” Titiana Bogar told News 8 Thursday.
Bogar says getting the phone call that her son had been shot that night didn’t feel real.
“It’s painful. It feels like a dream,” Bogar said. “Sometimes it’s hard to deal with is just you don’t want to keep constantly thinking that you’re reliving what you relive the first time all over again.”
Anyone with information or video that can aid in this investigation, is urged to call 911. People can also call the Major Crimes Section at 585-428-7157, Crime Stoppers at 585-423-9300, or email MajorCrimes@cityofrochester.gov.
“Even if someone has information that might not just relate this individual, but other information that might help us we stress they reach out because again, there are hundreds of people out there somebody, many people know things and we’re just looking for help to help the families give them closure,” Investigator Matt Klein with the Rochester Police Department told News 8.
Bogar emphasizing the necessity of any information to start to feel a sense of closure.
“What I don’t understand is why people go out and you see a crowd of people and then you just open fire,” Bogar said. “It was kids that night, I could have lost all three of my kids. So, I think the more information that we get is a lot closer it helps a lot of us heal.”
