    Rochester man facing several charges after high-speed chase in Genesee County

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A Rochester man is facing several charges after leading deputies on a high-speed chase, according to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.

    Deputies said around 4:30pm Thursday, they attempted to pull over 28-year-old Edward D. Grant, III, in the Town of Stafford, when he took off. The pursuit went through Batavia and ended up on the New York State Thruway.

    He was eventually taken into custody after his car was disabled by spike strips.

    Grant was charged with reckless endangerment, unlawful fleeing of a police officer in a motor vehicle (3rd), aggravated unlicensed operation (2nd), reckless driving, and speeding.

    He is being held at the Genesee County Jail pending arraignment.
