ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Progress is being made on cleaning up a restaurant on North Clinton Avenue that was the center of a car crash last week.

Last Thursday, an SUV left the road and crashed into the El Pilon Criollo restaurant , destroying the restaurant’s dining room.

The owners of the restaurant are working to find out how to continue to serve food to its customers. Alejandra Brown runs the restaurant with her sisters after they took over the business from their mother. Brown says their customers have been very supportive.

“I believe the plan is right now they’re gonna put up some temporary walls around the damage so they can do what they have to do and we can also serve in some capacity inside in the next few days hopefully,” Brown said.

A tent was set up outside the restaurant. Brown said they don’t have a card reader, so they are asking customers to call ahead with orders and to bring cash.

El Pilon Criollo’s business hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are also taking catering orders throughout August and will host a back-to-school bash on August 25 at 12 p.m.
