    Police: Man fatally shot in Haskell Avenue identified

    ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A man was shot and killed in the 1000 block of Haskell Avenue on Wednesday night, police said.

    The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office identified the man as 29-year-old Marquell Reddic.

    Rockford Police officers were called to a home on Haskell Avenue around 6:11 p.m. for reports of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found Reddic on the sidewalk. He had been shot multiple times.

    He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:56 p.m.

    The autopsy revealed Reddic died due to the gunshot wounds.

    RPD and The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate.
