    Rockford man charged with illegal possession of firearm, meth delivery

    ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Vicent Stewart, 34, for allegedly delivering meth among other charges.

    On July 22nd, around 4 p.m., police were surveilling Villa Di Roma in the 9000 block of South Alpine Road. Stewart arrived in a black Chevrolet Impala on Kenmore Road behind Villa Di Roma.

    Officials jumped into action and took the suspect into custody.

    Authorities said they searched Stewart and he had several plastic bags in his underwear of methamphetamine. Police proceeded to transport the suspect to the Winnebago County Detective Bureau.

    Officials found more methamphetamine when they arrived and Stewart gave consent for them to search his residence, according to court documents. Authorities arrived in the 4200 block of Middlebury Avenue and said they found a 12 gauge shotgun.

    Stewart is being charged with possession of a firearm without a FOID, felon possession of a firearm, manufacturing and delivering cocaine and meth delivery.
