Old Bridge Couple Sentenced for Unlicensed Medical Practice and Assault
OLD BRIDGE, NJ - An Old Bridge couple were sentenced in Middlesex County in connection with the unlicensed practice of medicine and two sexual assaults that occurred in July 2022. An adult female victim went to receive medical treatment at the residence of Orger Sibaja-Bolanos, 67, of Old Bridge, who posed as a doctor. Sibaja-Bolanos sexually assaulted her and gave her injections. The subsequent investigation revealed that Sibaja-Bolanos’s wife, Rosa Perez, 64, of Old Bridge, assisted with the unlicensed medical practice. Construction Begins on New DPW Building in Mountainside
MOUNTAINSIDE NJ - Fuscon Enterprises started construction on the new Department of Public Works (DPW) building along Route 22, aiming for completion by the end of this year. The building will store all of the DPW equipment which is right now scattered around the Borough. The town had been looking for a place to put the Department of Public Works facility once the state of New Jersey removed the street salt supply for the Borough. ALJ High School Teacher Fredy Reyes Attends Holocaust Conference in Berlin
Clark, NJ — Noted German playwright Frank Wedekind once said, “Monuments are for the living, not the dead.” Arthur L. Johnson (ALJ) High School social studies teacher Fredy Reyes spent a week in and around Berlin visiting many such monuments. Reyes attended a week-long program studying the Holocaust and the Cold War. The trip was run by Centropa, a nonprofit organization that strives to educate teachers from Israel, Europe, and the United States about European history, especially the Holocaust. WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield High School track and field/cross country coach Christopher Tafelski has received national recognition for a second time for his leadership and performance during the 2023-2024 school year, Westfield Public Schools announced Wednesday. Tafelski has been selected by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as the 2024 Boys’ High School Track and Field Coach of the Year for the state of New Jersey. The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants' (NJCPA) economic survey of more than 500 members in June revealed a relatively guarded stance on New Jersey’s economy for the second half of 2024 and a more positive take on the national economy.
