Monmouth County DWI Task Force adding checkpoint, more patrols over Fourth of July weekend
WALL - A drunken driving checkpoint will be set up on Route 138 on Friday night to screen motorists for their sobriety, according to the Monmouth County DWI Task Force. All westbound motor vehicles on the state highway will be diverted onto Maxwell Drive from 10 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday. Wall Police officers will be working alongside task force members during the four-hour operation, said Allenhurst Police Chief Michael Schneider, task force coordinator.
