ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Rogers Fire Department (RFD) rescued two people from a fire at the 5300 block of South 44th Place on the morning of July 24.

RFD responded after the victims’ house fire alarm company automatically reported the incident and crews were dispatched around 11:22 a.m.

Once making entry into the home, RFD rescued one ambulatory victim and second victim laying on a bed. The second victim was then transferred to a medical unit, treated and airlifted to a burn unit in Springfield, according to Rogers Fire Deputy Chief Dusty Qualls.

Fire crews contained the fire, which was in the room where the injured victim was found, by 11:45 a.m.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown and is under investigation. Details about the victims have not been released.
