ROGERSVILLE — The Rogersville Parks and Recreation Department is gearing up for the second month of its Summer in the Park program — with plenty of friendly competition still to come.

In the most recent tournament, the Red Rockets beat Parks & Wrecked in a best-of-three championship series to lay claim to their second straight wiffleball championship. This year’s squad included Brayden Lawson, Will Price, Brady LeRoy, Tyler Lawson and Avery Lowe.

After the Fourth of July 3-on-3 basketball tournament (starting today at 10 a.m.), the Guys & Dolls Golf Night is the next sporting event on tap. It will be held Friday, July 12, at McDonald Hills Golf Course. The Fourth of July Kickball tournament has been canceled.

There’ll be a beach volleyball tournament on July 13 and a pickleball tournament on July 27. Both events start at 10 a.m. Registration opens July 8 at 8 a.m. for the pickleball tournament. There’ll be an open division and senior division.

Registration for Rogersville Parks and Recreation events is available online at www.rogersvillerecdesk.com or in person at the office, located at 1101 E. Main St. To learn more about any of the events, call 423-272-2545 or email matts@rogersvilletn.gov. Registration opens two weeks before each event.
