Petaluma Bus and Transit Services are Now Free to All for a Year
Bus services in Petaluma are now free. The city began a one year pilot program yesterday during which all Petaluma Transit services will be completely fare-free. No tickets, no passes, no cash – just show up and ride. Paratransit clients can schedule their trips as they have done in the past, but a fare will no longer be required for their Petaluma Transit paratransit trip. The goal of this program is to promote Petaluma Transit’s network of services, alleviate the financial burden of low-income riders, improve access, and meet the rigorous climate goals set forth by the City.

The US National Weather Service (NWS) has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for a majority of the Bay Area from morning on Tuesday, July 2, through evening on Saturday, July 6. The hottest temperatures are forecasted Tuesday and Wednesday with Santa Rosa expected to peak at 105 degrees. The NWS considers this a Moderate to Extreme heat risk event in our area. Based on the forecasted conditions, the City of Santa Rosa will open a cooling center at the Finley Community Center located at 2060 W. College Ave. on Tuesday, July 2, and Wednesday, July 3, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
