"Gary was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 68", said Dr. Matt Letizia. Man Arrested After Intentionally Crashing Into Police Car, Injuring Officer: Butler PD
Officers were conducting speed enforcement detail on Bartholdi Avenue when a black Ford Explorer was observed operating at a high rate of speed, Butler police said. The driver, Charles Dampman, drove the vehicle into the opposite lane of travel and into oncoming traffic before crashing head on into an officer's parked vehicle, police said. The officer was transported to a local hospital where he was later released, police said.

Attorney General's Office Investigating Fatal East Orange Crash After Pursuit by Bloomfield Police
The Attorney General’s Office is currently investigating a deadly car crash that took place on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, following a police chase from Newark to East Orange. One driver was fatally injured in the crash, while two others sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The names of those involved have not been disclosed. The Bloomfield Police Department received a notification from an Automated License Plate Recognition system regarding a vehicle linked to a robbery investigation. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused and led them on a pursuit into East Orange, where the crash occurred. The driver of the pursued vehicle died, while other civilians involved suffered minor injuries.
