NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A man who used to own a Roswell escrow company was sentenced for fraud. More than $1.2 million was involved.

Christopher Jensen-Tanner purchased Roswell Escrow Services, Inc. in 2013, a release stated, and dealt with real estate contracts involving “significant sums of money” for clients.

Jensen-Tanner reportedly began using the money to fund “an extravagant lifestyle” in 2017. The funds were moved around to “conceal his actions.”

In 2019, a victim came forward and prompted an investigation by the New Mexico Financial Institutions Division. The fraud was exposed.

Jensen-Tanner was sentenced to 46 months in prison.

Any additional victims are encouraged to come forward by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or visiting tips.fbi.gov.
