Local Kitchens is Bringing Changes to Regional Sites for a Renewed Future

Remember the San Francisco-based micro food hall chain Local Kitchens ? The chain had plans to build sites in Folsom and Citrus Heights last year but eventually abandoned the plans. This March, it opened in Natomas at 2610 Arena Blvd but closed its Roseville site inside the Renaissance Creek shopping center.

The fluctuation in business was mainly caused by changes in consumer behaviors as the chain first launched during the pandemic. The concept housed multiple food concepts under one roof, allowing customers to order from multiple concepts in the same order and, of course, focused on contactless ordering. Now, with things back to normal, most people are returning to their pursuit of the traditional dining experience. Since then, the chain has adopted some repositioning strategies at their San Francisco locations and is now rolling those changes out into sites in the Sacramento region.

According to reporting from the Sacramento Business Journal , Local Kitchen has begun work at its other Roseville site at 10357 Fairway Drive, Suite 130 , inside the Highland Reserve Marketplace , with some quick room reconfiguration to provide an improved dining experience with indoor and patio seatings. The reconfiguration will only take about a week and the site is expected to reopen on July 30.

“What we’ve learned over the past couple of years is that guests have been using our locations as more of a traditional restaurant and are dining in and not just ordering digitally,” Jon Goldsmith , CEO and co-founder of Local Kitchens, told the Business Journal. These remodels will add additional seating, make the spaces more warm and inviting, and implement more brand elements to tell better stories of the partners we work with.”

Similar changes are also planned for the chain’s Davis location at 500 First St., Suite 13 . According to the Business Journal, work at the Davis is anticipated to be completed by the end of August.
