Funeral arrangements made for 1-year-old hit and killed by driver in Warrick County
WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — Funeral arrangements have been made for a young boy who passed away after being hit by a vehicle in Warrick County. According to the Warrick County Sheriff's Office, 1-year-old Judson Whelan of Gentryville died on Sunday evening after running in front of a vehicle.

Jasper’s historic Ruxer Field, transitioning from grass to turf
JASPER, Ind. (WFIE) - Big changes are underway, for one of the most historic and iconic baseball fields in the Tri-State area. Yes, the end of an era has come, for Jasper’s Ruxer Field. It’s been an all-natural grass and dirt field, since it’s inception, but now, they are tearing up that surface and replacing it with a brand-new, all-turf field. The project is estimated to cost just over $2 million, and be finished later this year.
Redevelopment Commission Hears Updates on Jasper Municipal Pool Project
The Jasper Redevelopment Commission’s meeting on Tuesday morning provided new updates on the municipal pool project’s progress. A claim from Hafer Associates for approximately $9500 was approved by the Commission for services related to the construction of Jasper’s new outdoor pool. The total contract with Hafer is for $469,000 with $12,000 in reimbursable expenses. So far, just under $400,000 has been utilized. The Commission heard that Hafer anticipates needing to use the full contract amount, and has asked for addendum to be added for services provided for a land survey, so the total is expected to increase.

The Jasper Chamber of Commerce hosted State Representatives Steve Bartels and Shane Lindauer as well as State Senator for District 48 and GOP candidate for the Eighth Congressional District Mark Messmer to the Jasper Train Depot Thursday morning for a legislative roundtable. The officials fielded a number of questions from local leaders in the public and private sectors, and detailed some likely action items on the horizon for the state government. Topics ranged from marijuana policy and tax policy to more personal priorities based on each representative’s constituency.

The Lincoln Heritage Public Library hosted a 40-foot inflatable obstacle course and 12-foot tropical slide Thursday, courtesy of Jessica Wittman of Santa Claus Dentistry, Dale Fall Fest, and Reckelhoff Family Feeds.
