Fairmont High School Speech Team Competes At National Tournament
The Fairmont High School Speech team recently completed a successful season with impressive results at the National Speech Competition in Des Moines. Fairmont EDA Meeting Changed
The Fairmont Economic Development Authority usually meets on the second Monday of each month, however, this month the meeting will be moved to Monday, July 15th. FEDA will meet that day at 4:30 p.m. at the Fairmont City Hall second floor conference room. If you have any questions about this month’s meeting, contact Fairmont EDA director Ned Koppen at 507-238-9461.
Pirates game tonight postponed
The Windom Pirates amateur baseball team has announced that its scheduled game tonight against the Milroy Irish has been postponed. The game had been slated to be played at Island Park, but flooding prompted the game to be moved, with plans to play at Jackson. However, flooding on highways in Jackson has created increased traffic by Jackson County Central High School, raising safety concerns.

As part of the summer events for kids at the Martin County Library, join library staff to make a patriotic craft beginning 2 p.m. Friday, June 28, at the Fairmont Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. This event is for kids of all ages. There is no need to register and no cost to attend. Most news will be for July, like the Friendship Club from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn will meet 11 a.m. Monday, July 1, at the Farmer’s Daughter Restaurant in Blue Earth. The exit for Blue Earth from I-90 may be closed. Check out coming to Blue Earth on the old highway from Fairmont or exiting prior to Blue Earth and then coming to Blue Earth on the old highway. Any friends may join them. You need not be a member at St. John’s Church.
