ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis Circuit Court judge signed an arrest warrant last month for a man wanted in connection with a 2022 fatal shooting.

The shooting took place on Oct. 23, 2022, outside a corner store at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Mott Street in the Carondelet neighborhood.

Police said the shooter, identified as Michael Winston, 27, entered the Michigan Market and was recorded on surveillance video inside the store. A short time later, a woman walked outside the store and got into a waiting SUV.

As the SUV pulled away, police said Winston ran out the store, pulled out a gun, and began shooting at the vehicle, striking both the driver and passenger.

According to our news partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch , the driver and passenger were rushed to the hospital. The driver, identified as Michelle Sobel, was pronounced dead. Sobel was 63. The passenger survived.
