Meet and greet held for incoming superintendent at the Allen County Board of DD
ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - The Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities is getting ready for the transition in leadership on August 1!. Renee Kohler, the current superintendent with the Auglaize County Board of Developmental Disabilities, traveled to Lima for a "meet and greet" as she prepared to begin the role of shared superintendent for both the Allen County and Auglaize County boards. She will be responsible for working with leadership teams in both counties for daily operations while maintaining two separate staff and organizations.

Van Wert bank opens Fort Wayne branch; will rebrand under GreenWay name
Ohio-based Van Wert Federal Savings Bank has opened a Fort Wayne branch and announced Friday it is changing its name to GreenWay Bank on Aug. 1. Located at 202 W. Com_UNITY Ministries celebrates their 5-year anniversary
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - One Lima organization is celebrating their 5-year anniversary of their pursuit to curb violence and encourage unity in the city. On Monday evening, Com_UNITY Ministries gathered with residents to celebrate those 5 years with a "Praise and Prayer Picnic." The evening was also filled with honor as organizers held a "Remembrance Wall" where the names of 45 Lima citizens who lost their lives to violence. The religious group formed in 2019, following a series of shootings in June of that year, and since their inception, they have been working hard to fulfill a mission of peace and unification.

Outage affecting local 911 service
There is currently a network server/interface outage affecting multiple areas of the United States and other areas around the globe. Some systems/networks are not available. Van Wert County is currently still receiving 911 calls, just not all information that normally comes with the call. Law enforcement is getting the voice but not the caller location and phone number with the call.
Leis takes AEDG helm; Stratton to lead GLR and advance initiatives
The Allen Economic Development Group (AEDG) has announced that Cindy Leis is its new President and CEO. This follows Dave Stratton's transition to President and CEO of the Greater Lima Region (GLR). Stratton has been with AEDG since 2015 and led the organization since 2019. Both boards have approved the transitions, which took effect on Monday, July 15.
