ARLINGTON, Texas — Prosecutors in the Dominican Republic did not formally present charges against Rays shortstop Wander Franco by Friday’s deadline.

But that does not mean they still won’t, or that he has been cleared of any legal repercussions, as there reportedly now will be another 15-day window.

Under the Dominican legal process, the court must notify the prosecutor’s office “to present a definitive accusation or file” within 15 days of the notification, according to ESPN.
