Dixon man arrested following two-county chase with law enforcement
A Pulaski County man is facing numerous charges after he leads three Maries County Sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase. According to the Maries County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy spotted James Stewart, of Dixon, driving a motorcycle more than 20 miles over the posted speed limit on Highway 133 on Thursday. When the deputy attempted to stop Stewart, he allegedly sped off reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph. Stewart allegedly passed numerous vehicles at unsafe speeds, failed to maintain his lane, and ran a stop sign just outside Dixon.
No one injured in St. Robert house fire
No one is injured in a house fire in St. Robert. The St. Robert Fire and Rescue Department says crews were dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 600 block of VFW Memorial Drive Wednesday. When crews arrived, there was moderate smoke coming out of the roof and windows of the home. The fire was confined to the kitchen and living room areas of the home.
