Jordan Clarkson struggled to find his shooting touch last season, converting 29.4% from three-point range despite taking 5.6 per night. The former Sixth Man of the Year now has additional competition off the Utah Jazz's bench, with Collin Sexton and Keyonte George also fighting for minutes in a similar role.

As such, Clarkson may find his playing time limited in the upcoming season.

"The truth is that Sexton, George, and Clarkson are very similar archetypes of players right now," Andy Larson of The Salt Lake Tribune wrote in a recent column. "For all three, their best attribute is scoring, and all three are poor defenders thanks to their size and inconsistent effort...Clarkson, meanwhile, needs a bounceback season after really struggling with his efficiency last year. As of now, there haven’t been any other interested NBA teams in trading for his services."

At 32 years old, Clarkson is in the tail end of his prime years. He's on a natural decline that could limit his ability to be the efficient shot-chucker he once was. Nevertheless, his scoring ability should entice teams once the season gets underway. After all, almost every NBA roster needs a bigger scoring punch off the bench.

The Jazz, on the other hand, have too many scoring specialists. It would behoove them to try and cash in on one or two of their bench scorers to continue stacking tradable assets. Utah's front office has been active in recent seasons as it looks to position itself as a future contender in the Western Conference.

Clarkson has been with the Jazz for four and a half seasons. He was one of their best players during the early days of their rebuild. Now, it appears that a parting of ways is best for both sides. The hard part will be remaining patient while other teams develop a need for additional scoring.

Until then, Clarkson will likely find himself behind Sexton in the rotation and fighting for scraps with George.
