New San Diego soccer team selects Shift4 for ticket sales

Shift4 has been selected by San Diego FC (SDFC) to handle its ticket sales.

San Diego is the most recent city to be awarded a major league soccer expansion team and will begin competing in the 2025 season.

“We are thrilled to partner with Shift4,” said SDFC CEO Tom Penn in a statement. “Our goal is to provide our fans with the best ticket-buying experience, and Shift4 is the perfect partner to help us achieve this.”

Shift4 said its payment processing is used by every major professional sports league in the US as well as colleges, entertainment venues, and many other business verticals.

“We’re thrilled to hit the ground running with San Diego FC for their debut season,” said Anthony Perez, Shift4’s senior vice president of Online Payments and Venues. “We’re excited to help deliver the best ticket buying experience possible for SDFC fans when the team kicks off next year.”
