Three Year Anniversary of Unsolved Murder in Emerald Hills

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit continue to ask for public aid in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of 38-year-old Luis Alberto Arroyo.

On July 26, 2021, the San Diego Police Dispatch Center received a report at 2:14 a.m. of possible gunshots in the Emerald Hills area. A man, later identified as Luis Alberto Arroyo, was found in the parking lot of Emerald Hills Park with apparent gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Officers administered first aid, and performed CPR. San Diego Fire-Rescue arrived and transported Arroyo to a local hospital, where Arroyo did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Investigators are still in the process of looking for witnesses and information on potential suspect(s).
