SAN FRANCISCO ( KRON ) – A 25-year-old has been convicted on several charges after a "violent attack" in the Ingleside District, according to the San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins.

On November 20, 2022, Najee Barrow was accused of punching and kicking a victim unprovoked at a grocery store near Holloway and Brighton Streets. The victim was standing at the store's cash register before his shift at a McDonald’s on Ocean Avenue. According to evidence and testimony, Barrow chased and cornered the victim in the aisle. Barrow then began assaulting the victim, according to the district attorney’s office.

A week later, Barrow attempted to find the victim at his workplace with a Glock firearm, according to the district attorney's office.

Barrow was detained by police on Nov. 30, 2022. According to the district attorney's office, Barrow resisted arrest, and a Glock firearm was found in his backpack.

On Monday, a jury convicted Barrow of multiple charges including:

    • Carrying a loaded firearm in a public place
    • Possessing a firearm by a person who has been convicted of a felony
    • Possessing a firearm within ten years of a misdemeanor
    • Firearm possession by individuals who have been convicted wards of the juvenile court
    • Assault with the intent of committing an act of violence
    • Drawing a firearm in a threatening manner

Jenkins commended the jury's decision, "The jury's verdict holds Mr. Barrow accountable and sends a message that random unprovoked violence in our community will not be tolerated and perpetrators will face consequences."

Barrow is scheduled for sentencing on July 30.
