The 2024 Cincinnati Reds (52-57) hit a new low on Friday night by getting no-hit by the San Francisco Giants' (55-56) Blake Snell . They can't dwell on it long as the playoff race is still heating up. This time, the Reds will send out their ace to get back on track.

Hunter Greene (7-4, 2.97 ERA) has been on a tear . In his last four starts spanning July, Greene had a 0.33 ERA, allowing just one run over 27 innings with 27 strikeouts. He's on his best run since joining the big league club and is expected to be the lynchpin in what hope to be a successful August.

This will be Greene's second start against the Giants. On August 30 of last year, Green threw 5 2/3 innings of one run baseball. San Francisco managed just three hits and a walk against Greene while striking out six times.

Santiago Espinal 's 11-game hit streak was broke last night and he will have the night off. After last night, the Reds are batting .222/.301/.367 against left-handed starters, which they will face once again on Saturday:

    1.) 2B Jonathan India
2.) SS Elly De La Cruz
    3.) LF Spencer Steer
    4.) 1B Ty France
    5.) C Tyler Stephenson
    6.) DH Jeimer Candelario
    7.) CF TJ Friedl
    8.) RF Stuart Fairchild
    9.) 3B Noelvi Marte
    SP Hunter Greene

The Giants must follow up last night's no-hitter to take the series and get back to .500 and will send lefty Kyle Harrison (6-4, 3.69 ERA) to the hill. Harrison is on a tear of his own. allowing one or fewer runs in four of his last five starts. Over his last three starts, Harrison owns a 1.06 ERA in 17 innings of work. He's coming off a start where he tied his career-best with 11 strikeouts.

This is the third time Harrison is starting against the Reds. In those two previous starts, the Reds managed just six hits and drew seven walks while scoring three runs. All three of those runs came in the May 12 matchup earlier this year. The Reds chased Harrison after five innings, up 3-0. The team went on to lose 6-5 in 10 innings.

The Giants lineup is averaging over nine hits over the last nine games (the team is on a 7-2 run):

    1.) 1B LaMonte Wade Jr.
    2.) CF Heliot Ramos
    3.) C Patrick Bailey
    4.) 3B Matt Chapman
    5.) LF Michael Conforto
    6.) SS Tyler Fitzgerald
    7.) RF Mike Yastrzemski
    8.) DH Marco Luciano
    9.) 2B Casey Schmitt
    SP Kyle Harrison
