Macklin Celebrini Hits The Ice For Sharks Development Camp; Decision To Come Shortly After Camp

Today was the first day of the San Jose Sharks development camp, and Macklin Celebrini had the fans in attendance excited.
While nothing can be determined by one skate, Celebrini was the star of the show.
The Sharks prospect pool has been on a rapid ascent to the top of the league rankings, and the development camp is the first place fans, coaches, and front-office members get a chance to see them skate as part of the organization.
Celebrini was paired with Kasper Halttunen for many drills, and while that likely isn't on purpose, the duo looked like they could pair well.
"There are some special players here. It's been good to play with them [and] start to get to know them a little bit," Celebrini said. "Start to bond with them [and] see how their game is. Me and Kasper, we started to play a little bit together and it was pretty fun."
It is hard to tell who's better than who in a non-game setting, but there are little things that can be noticed.
Since his season at Boston University ended, Celebrini has been asked whether he has decided to go pro nonstop. When asked when he might decide, the centerman said it won't be long.
"Yeah, that's coming up," Celebrini admitted. "I'll make the decision pretty quick here. [I'm] just trying to enjoy this camp. After that, I guess it's time to make a decision."
San Jose Barracuda head coach John McCarthy is running this season's development camp and had high praise for Celebrini.
"He was super competitive on pucks. That's what stood out to me," McCarthy said. "I think he's a really, really talented, really good hockey player."
Celebrini has handled the pressure of being a No. 1 pick well and signed autographs after his first skate with the Sharks.
"I think he's a mature kid. I know a lot of people at [BU], and talking to them, they're [saying that as] impressive as he is as a player and his skill level, they are equally as impressed how he is as a person," McCarthy said. "The way he carries himself and goes about his business. It all ties in, which is why he went first overall."
The Celebrini hype is real, as fans and players all felt the added attention level at Sharks Ice San Jose during the first day of development camp.
