Joe Pavelski Posts Heartfelt Letter To Hockey

Former San Jose Sharks captain Joe Pavelski posted a heartfelt message to fans about his recent retirement.

Pavelski was an 18-year veteran of the NHL and most recently played for the Dallas Stars. He never won a Stanley Cup but was seen as one of the greatest players from the incredible 2003 NHL Draft.

The Big Pavelski reminisced about playoff memories, and ironically, the two that stand out most to him involve him getting knocked out, which he mentions.

He was always a team guy and was thankful for his teammates going deep in the playoffs without him to give him the chance to return.

"Seeing Jumbo's face as I skated back to the bench, and his genuine excitement boiling over, is something etched in my brain to this day," Pavelski wrote.

The Sharks and Stars posted thank you videos to display the memories that Pavelski gave each franchise.

There is no indication at this moment that San Jose will retire Pavelski's No. 8.

In my opinion, it would be surprising if someone wore No. 8 on the Sharks again, regardless if it isn't officially retired.
