( KRON ) — Authorities are looking for a suspect who allegedly lit a trashcan on fire outside of a Target store, the San Rafael Police Department said. Police said the arson happened around 11:57 p.m. on Monday at the Target on Shoreline Parkway.

Surveillance video (above) shows the suspect in the act. The individual is seen lighting a piece of cardboard on fire and placing it inside the trashcan — igniting flames to come out.

Once flames are seen coming out of the trashcan, the suspect walks away from the scene. Police said it is possible the suspect was injured after lighting the trashcan on fire.

The suspect is considered dangerous and “should not be approached,” police said. The Target store building suffered more than $2,500 in damages.

SRPD called the arson a “serious and dangerous incident.” Anyone with information about the suspect and/or their identity is asked to call 415-485-3000 or go online .
