    Spinners sweep twinbill, stay in playoff hunt

    For the third time in less than a week, bad weather at Tramway Park interfered with a Sanford Spinners game Tuesday afternoon, even though the teams had moved up the schedule in an attempt to avoid evening showers. The second game of the season-ending doubleheader was moved to the USA Baseball complex, with the Spinners needing to win to keep their playoff hopes alive. John Cate | The Sanford Herald

    The Old North State League playoff chase came down to the final day, and the final game, of the regular season.

    Whether the Sanford Spinners will be part of the ONSL postseason for the third year in a row had not been decided as of press time for this issue. The Spinners were in the process of playing their final two games of the 2024 regular season at press time for this issue, and their fate will also rest on the outcome of other games being played Tuesday.
