Marion Police Looking for Stolen Truck and Possible Suspect
MARION – Marion Police need your help locating a truck that was stolen from the 400 block of West Main Street around 12:45 Monday afternoon. Police say it’s a unique black and pink Chevy truck they are trying to find. A white female is also believed to be involved in this theft.
JALC to Host Saturday Signup on August 3
CARTERVILLE (JALC NEWS) – The fall semester at John A. Logan College is set to begin on Monday, August 12. Registration is currently underway, and walk-in registration starts on August 1. The College will offer a Saturday Sign-up on August 3 from 9 a.m. to noon. The event is designed to help working adults and other individuals who cannot visit the campus during regular business hours. Although walk-ins are welcome, Individuals interested in the Saturday Sign-up can pre-register at www.jalc.edu.
Pinto World Series Held In Marion Over The Weekend
The Pinto 8u World Championship was held in Marion over the weekend. Bonaire won the Gold Bracket championship beating Carterville in the finals 8-1. Royalton won the Gold Consolation bracket beating Mattoon 4-2 in the trophy game. Mt Vernon was in this bracket as well and lost in their opener to Royalton 17-7. Centralia 1 was also in this bracket and was eliminated by Marion 1-0.

In the past, a judge in Tennessee could decide to try a child in adult court for violent or otherwise extreme offenses. But, as of July 1, under SB 2569, children 15 and older can be tried in adult court for two nonviolent offenses: shoplifting or stealing a firearm, or attempting to do so.
Benton man killed in Marshall Co. collision
A Benton man was killed in a head-on collision on U.S. 68 West in Marshall County Friday. According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, it happened near Darnall Road when a vehicle operated by 50-year-old Gedget Quigley of Paducah drifted into the westbound lane while traveling eastbound on U.S. 68.
