Milkman Gets Nod To KGF Hall of Fame
Murray State women's golf coaching legend Velvet Milkman has been inducted into the Kentucky Golf Foundation's Hall of Fame, adding to a prestigious career that includes a spot in the 2024 Murray State Hall of Fame class. Milkman founded the MSU women's golf program in 1993 and led the team to 12 OVC Championships over 29 seasons, remaining a significant figure in collegiate golf until her retirement in May 2022. Her teams performed exceptionally both on the course, with accolades for individual players, and in academics, showcasing a commitment to excellence in multiple arenas.
Carbondale man charged with murder in 2021 shooting death of SIU student
CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – A Carbondale man faces murder and other charges in connection with the 2021 shooting death of a Southern Illinois University student. The Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office and Carbondale Police Department held a joint press conference Wednesday morning on the death investigation of Southern Illinois University student Keeshanna Jackson.
