Straight arrow: Gardner not going to Paris but still No. 1 female para archer
One by one, the arrows whizzed through the humid July morning, past a junked pick-up truck and an RV that had seen better days before reconvening in the center yellow circle of a target some 50 meters away from Wendy Gardner. The target range set up behind her home on Holdens Cross Road was a bit unheralded for a shooter […] The post Straight arrow: Gardner not going to Paris but still No. 1 female para archer first appeared on Restoration NewsMedia.
Team goals: Wilson Prep’s 5 starters all to play college hoops
Perhaps even more remarkable than Wilson Prep’s accomplishment of winning back-to-back state 1-A championships in basketball is that all six of its seniors are going to college. All five starters — Brandon Anderson, David Ellis, Ben Ferguson, Josh Hicks and Leslie Minter — have earned basketball scholarships, which may be unprecedented in Wilson County, while Khristian Woodard landed an academic […] The post Team goals: Wilson Prep’s 5 starters all to play college hoops first appeared on Restoration NewsMedia.

Sophomore forward Clarence Rosser Jr. has lofty goals
ROCKY MOUNT — Clarence Rosser Jr. had quite a first year of high school. Rosser, who goes by C.J., made a name for himself last August at the CP3 Rising Stars Camp. Being a tall slender forward from the eastern part of the state, it was easy to link him to former Kinston (N.C.) High star Brandon Ingram, who went on to Duke and the New Orleans Pelicans. But it took Ingram time, but Rosser has gotten the attention of recruiting gurus and colleges coaches even faster than Ingram did in the class of 2015.
Santa, pitching boost Tobs over Sharks
Christmas, arguably, can come early. The Wilson Tobs summer league baseball team was convinced of as much Sunday night at Fleming Stadium as the “Christmas in July” promotion spurred them to a much-needed 4-1 Coastal Plain League decision against the Wilmington Sharks. Trailing 1-0 in the sixth inning, Wilson plated its four runs in the bottom half of the inning […] The post Santa, pitching boost Tobs over Sharks first appeared on Restoration NewsMedia.
