EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA — Due to flood water conditions, a few area parks in eastern Carolina remain closed as of Wednesday, August 14. Second sewer spill this month impacting Rocky Mount residents, Tar River
A sewer spill has been impacting Rocky Mount residents for nearly a week. This comes one week after another spill in the exact same spot. The city of Rocky Mount said on Facebook that the spill started on the morning of Aug. 8 at a manhole under the trestle on River Side Drive.
