Savannah Area Realtors’ Young Council to host tailgate to support SAFE Shelter

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Local realtors are coming together for a night at the ballpark while supporting Savannah’s shelter for victims of domestic violence.

Members of the Savannah Area REALTORS®’ (SAR) Young Council of REALTORS® (YCR) are hosting their annual tailgate party at Grayson Stadium on Saturday, July 20.

The tailgate party kicks off at 5 p.m. as guests start to arrive with items from SAFE Shelter’s growing needs list.

Anyone attending the game is invited to drop off items for SAFE Shelter.

Some general items SAFE Shelter is in need of includes:

• Cell phones (new or used)
• Trash bags
• Paper products
• Family size soap, body wash, shampoo & conditioner (new)
• Toothpaste & toothbrushes
• Feminine hygiene products
• Inflatable mattresses (all sizes)
• African-American hair care products
• Diapers (all sizes), wipes etc.
• Laundry detergent, dryer sheets & bleach
• Towels and wash cloths (new & gently used)

In addition to the donations collected at the ballpark, SAFE Shelter will also receive proceeds from the tickets sold.

The mission of SAFE Shelter Center for Domestic Violence Services is to prevent domestic violence, protect victims and promote change in lives, families and the community.

Open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, the Shelter provides safe, confidential services to all victims of domestic violence.
