1 dead after shooting on Highway 204

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) is investigating after a shooting on Highway 204 Thursday afternoon.

One man was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital. He was shot at least one time and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Chatham County Coroner’s Office has identified the man as Tre’Von Moorer, a 25-year-old.

The shooting on Highway 204 westbound shut down the Interstate 95 exit. Highway 204 Westbound at Gateway was also closed as part of the ongoing investigation of the incident.

The I-95 northbound on-ramp from Highway 204 was also closed. Drivers were asked to exit from 204 to I-95 southbound.

There are no specific details on the events that occurred.
