7/21/24 Two Hurt in FDL County Motorcycle Accident
A 67-year-old man and 57-year-old woman from Kohler were injured when their motorcycle crashed into a guardrail on State Highway 67 near Boy Scout Drive in Fond du Lac County’s Town of Osceola Saturday afternoon. Sheriff’s officials learned from witnesses the man was heading north on State Highway 67 when the motorcycle experienced mechanical issues and crashed into a guardrail. Both the man and the woman were thrown from the bike. The man suffered serious injuries and was flown to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. The woman had minor injuries and was taken to St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Neither of them was wearing a helmet. The only factor in the crash appears to be a mechanical issue with the motorcycle. No citations were issued. The accident was reported at 1:46 Saturday afternoon.

Unmanned aerial vehicles—more commonly known as drones, are soon becoming part of the arsenal of investigative equipment used by Lakes Area Police. Minnesota state laws require unmanned aerial vehicles not be activated until the department has adopted a policy, and last week the four-member Police Commission reviewed the program and supported continuing to pursue drones. Developing the policy is just a ‘first step’ the commission members heard, and actual purchase and deployment of any drones could be another year yet.
