    Coroner identifies 28-year-old swimmer who drowned in Florence County pond

    FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A 28-year-old man who died in an apparent accidental drowning early Wednesday morning has been identified.

    Zachary Gause of Scranton died after going swimming in a pond behind the Little Fishery Road truck stop off Highway 378 in the Scranton area, coroner Keith von Lutcken said. His body will be autopsied Friday morning at the Medical University of South Carolina.

    The coroner’s office and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources are investigating.
