When Joey Daccord's at T-Moblie Park, the opposition is getting shut out. Friday, Daccord threw out the first pitch before the Mariners defeated the Red Sox 1-0.

Joey starts tonight in goal, and Dallas probably won't promise to stay 60 feet, 6 inches away.

As good as Philipp Grubauer was against Dallas in last year's seven-game playoff, Daccord is the kind of athletic goaltender needed to contend with the Stars' attack.

That's because from a pure hockey standpoint, Dallas is a joy to watch. Crisp passes, puck possession, tireless. The visitors take nine of the first 11 shots in the game, but Daccord so far has all the answers.

The Stars' Jamie Benn declines a chance for a big open-ice hit against Seattle d-man Adam Larsson. Benn probably thinking the better part of valor is remaining healthy himself for what could be a long Stars playoff run.

A well-played, fast-paced, penalty-free 1st period ends scoreless. Kraken defenseman Ryker Evans saves a goal in the dying seconds by blocking a wraparound attempt with Daccord at the opposite post. Dallas has the edge in SOG, 12-3.

    2nd Period

Shot attempts in the 1st period were lopsided in Dallas' favor, 31-12. Seattle has to work to make that same International Fountain side of the rink tilt in their favor this period.

Oliver Bjorkstrand makes the non-goalie Kraken save of the season. As Jason Robertson is about to deposit the puck into an open net, Bjorkstrand slides across the crease behind his goalie to make the block.

Dallas goalie Jake Oettinger makes bang-bang saves on Brian Dumoulin and rookie Logan Morrison, playing his third NHL game.

Bjorkstrand comes close to breaking the ice on offense, but Oettinger gloves his rising blast.

The Stars - wow, are they talented - make consecutive behind the back passes as ageless Joe Pavelski fires on goal.
