The Seattle Kraken are expected to officially name Dan Bylsma as their new head coach at a Tuesday press conference.

The Pittsburgh Penguins superstar won his first Stanley Cup in 2009 after Bylsma took over the club late in the regular season.
“He’s not shy by any means,” Crosby has said . “I think being able to communicate with guys well is important and kind of getting your point across as early as possible is important, and it’s something he excels at.”
More from Sid the Kid: "He communicates well with everybody, whether it be a serious matter or a joking matter. In meetings, he keeps everyone on their toes and gets people involved through questions or hearing other guys' thoughts."
How Did DB Treat College Teammate?
"It was tough love," said Bowling Green teammate Todd Reirden, later an NHL coach himself. "In the beginning, he latched on to me for the purposes of making sure I understood what being a freshman was all about. No one told him to help me out on the ice and in class.
"He challenges players in a unique way. It's not abrasive. It is a way where they are evaluating themselves on a day-to-day basis, and they don't want to let him down."
Why Does NHL Teammate Describe DB As "Balanced"?
"He's pretty serious about what he's doing, but he approaches it in kind of a relaxed way, tries to have it loose," said Petr Sykora, who played with Bylsma in Anaheim. "There is a good balance. We get the hard work done but with a smile on our faces."
What Will Happen At AHL Coachella Valley?
Byslma remains coach of the Kraken's AHL farm team in Coachella Valley. The Firebirds begin their Western Conference Finals series against Milwaukee on Wednesday.
"I'm told Dan Bylsma will finish out the rest of the season with the Firebirds," according to KESQ-TV sports anchor Blake Arthur. And next season? "With Bylsma getting promoted to the big club, I'd look for (assistant) Jessica Campbell to get the Firebirds head coaching job. She's been under Bylsma's tutelage and is highly regarded."
