The Seattle Kraken have signed Oscar Fisker Molgaard to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Worth $950,000 annually, Fisker Molgaard was drafted by the Kraken in the second round, 52nd overall in the 2023 draft.

The 19-year-old spent the previous season with HC71 in the SHL where he scored nine goals and 21 points in 50 games, finishing sixth in both goals and points on his team. The young centreman finished third in goals and second in assists among U-20 players in the SHL.

He also participated in the World Championship with Denmark and scored a goal and four points in seven games.

Fisker Molgaard started the season off slowly but a coaching change instilled more confidence in him and unlocked his offensive game. Despite the slow start offensively, the intangibles of his game never wavered. He was always puck-hungry on the forecheck and defensively responsible.

Still under contract with HV71 next season, Fisker Molgaard won't be heading over to the Coachella Valley Firebirds quite yet but another season to develop in Sweden and then head over to end the North American season will be great for his development.

Listed at 6'0, 168 lbs and left-handed, Fisker Molgaard has the physical tools to one day be an effective middle-six centre in the NHL.
