Seahawks Send Ex-QB Russell Wilson A Gift Ahead Of First Steelers Training Camp

Whatever hard feelings that lingered after Russell Wilson’s departure from the Seattle Seahawks have apparently subsided.

As he prepares for his first training camp as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the 35-year-old quarterback revealed Tuesday on social media that his former team had sent him a gift — a throwback No. 3 Seahawks jersey commemorating the 10 years he spent with the franchise.

“Super, super grateful for you guys sending me this,” Wilson said. “Obviously, a lot of amazing memories there, and so you guys sending me this means the world to me. Forever grateful.”

Wilson is the most successful quarterback in Seahawks history. In his 10-year run with the team, he threw for 37,059 yards, 292 touchdowns and 87 interceptions, and he rushed for another 4,689 yards and 23 scores.

Nine Pro Bowl nods, a second-team All-Pro selection, and a Super Bowl title in the 2014 season are among the career milestones he achieved in Seattle.

Wilson is the Seahawks' all-time leader in career passing yards, touchdown passes, passer rating (101.8), completion rate (64.9%) and rushing yards by a QB. He holds franchise single-season records for passing touchdowns (40) and rushing yards by a QB (849).

In March 2022, Seattle traded Wilson and a 2022 fourth-round pick to the Denver Broncos in exchange for quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, first- and second-round picks in 2022 and 2023, and a 2022 fifth-round pick.

Wilson was released this offseason after two lackluster years with the Broncos. He signed a one-year deal with the Steelers for the veteran minimum.
