New Washington Commanders will be a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer once he retires from the NFL. What’s remarkable is that the 34-year-old Wagner remains a phenomenal player, having led the NFL in tackles last season — again.

Sure, Wagner has lost a step, but he remains one of the NFL’s best inside linebackers. Wagner, a six-time first-team All-Pro, four-time second-team All-Pro, and nine-time Pro Bowler, hopes to continue his strong play for the Commanders in 2024.

It was no surprise that Wagner was included among the NFL’s top 100 players for 2024 on Thursday.

The NFL ranked Wagner at No. 59. Here’s what they said about Wagner:

For Wagner, 2023 marked a return to his first NFL home in Seattle, and with it a return to vintage Wagner. He made his ninth Pro Bowl and led the NFL in tackles (183) for the third time as a pro, extending his career-long streak of years with 100-plus tackles. Wagner doesn’t look to be slowing down even after a dozen seasons, and he’ll look to bring that playmaking ability and veteran experience to Washington.

Can Wagner elevate the overall play of Washington’s defense? It shouldn’t be too hard, as the Commanders ranked dead last in multiple categories in 2023.

    Congratulations to Bobby Wagner.
