Seahawks QB Geno Smith Gets Crucial Injury Update After Absence

Don't worry, Seattle Seahawks fans; your QB1 is just fine.

Geno Smith recently missed several practices in a row because of knee and hip injuries, but he's expected to return to the fold next week, as reported by Ian Rapoport.

The signal-caller had tests on the ailments and there was no serious damage, paving the way for Smith to get back on the practice field. After a breakout 2022 campaign that saw him take the Seahawks to the playoffs and then earn a massive three-year, $103 million contract extension, the veteran took a step back in 2023.

Smith completed 64.7% of his throws for 20 touchdowns, nine interceptions, and 3,624 passing yards. That's compared to 4,282 yards the year prior and 30 TDs. Seattle missed the postseason in '23 with a 9-8 record.

PJ Walker and Sam Howell are Geno's backups at the quarterback position and have been getting most of the reps at practice this week.
