With the 4th of July falling on Thursday this year, many vacationers have already rolled into town this week to hit the beach. Fireworks displays aren’t the only draw, as thousands of people will also be attending music events in the coming days.
Freeman Arts Pavilion cooks with Lee Brice, UB40 and more
In Selbyville, the outdoor Freeman Arts Pavilion will keep the heavy hitters coming with the continuance of its Sounds Like Summer concert series. Saturday, July 6, country star Lee Brice will return following a 7 p.m. opening set by Rebecca Lynn Howard ($91 to $114). On Sunday, July 7, Freeman will host its first appearance by British reggae act UB40 ($56). The group’s Red, Red Wine Tour coincides with the release of its 45th anniversary album — which is appropriately titled “UB45.” New York City rock ’n’ rollers Fastest Land Animal will open the show at 7 p.m.
Freeman also has a double bill of mellow, classic rock set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 10. The co-headlining show will feature performances by both Moody Blues vocalist Justin Hayward and Grammy-winning solo artist Christopher Cross ($56, $79). A glance at the online seating charts for all three of these concerts reveals that very few tickets remain for any of them, so ordering in advance is probably a better bet than just showing up at the box office.

It's all about rock 'n' roll at Dewey Beach's Bottle & Cork
In Dewey Beach, the legendary Bottle & Cork has two very different rock shows on its schedule — both of which are sure to pack the 1,200-capacity nightclub to the rafters. At 8 p.m. Friday, July 5, the Cork will host the annual appearance of The Warped Tour Band: A Tribute to Emo/Pop-Punk ($25). Expect to hear covers of songs by Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, All-Time Low and more.
At 8 p.m. Sunday, July 7, the Cork will present the Yacht Lobsters ($27). The New York-based touring act made its Dewey debut back in February at the Cork’s nearby sister business, the Rusty Rudder. It specializes in chilled out yacht-rock classics by the likes of Toto, Hall & Oates and the Doobie Brothers.

Big reggae show soon, ska on the horizon at Ocean City's Seacrets
In Ocean City, the annual summer concert series at Seacrets will continue on the outdoor beach stage Wednesday, July 10, with the reggae sounds of the Long Beach Dub Allstars ($15 or free with local ID). The California ensemble has had many members through the years, and its earliest incarnation in the late ‘90s included members of Sublime. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Wednesday, with opening act Keep Flying taking the stage shortly thereafter.
Looking ahead to next month, Seacrets has announced that ska-punk quartet The Bumpin’ Uglies and special guest Joey Harkum will appear at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21 ($10 or free with local ID).

Show by hot rock act The Record Company moves to new venue
We mentioned in this column several months ago that tickets had gone on sale for a performance by national rock trio The Record Company outside at Hudson Fields in Milton on Friday, July 26. While the show is still a go for that date, it has been moved to a different outdoor venue a few miles away in Lewes.
It will now take place on the grounds of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry (home of the annual Rockin’ the Docks concert series). The gates will open at 5:30 p.m., with opening act Skribe playing first at 6:15 p.m. ($35).
