    Attempted murder suspect arrested after leading Alabama police on 100 mph chase

    An attempted murder suspect led Alabama police on a chase through two counties exceeding 100 mph before police apprehended him and charged him with more than half a dozen charges.

    The incident began on Tuesday when police in Selma were called to the 2400 Block of North Lauderdale Street regarding a gunshot victim.

    Upon arrival, Officers observed a male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the Hospital. The victim is still in critical condition.

    During the investigation, Detectives identified the suspect as Jason Craig, 38, of Orrville.

    On June 20, 2024, Officers were dispatched to the area of Old Montgomery regarding harassment. Dispatch advised that Jason Craig was the offender. Officers spotted Craig’s vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Craig refused to stop and took Officers on a high-speed chase.

    The chase exceeded speeds of 100mph. The chase concluded in Perry County when Officers boxed in Craig’s vehicle. Jason Craig was taken into custody by the Selma Police Department.

    Attempted Murder

    Felony Attempted to Elude

    Resisting Arrest

    Reckless Driving

    Driving without a license

    Driving Under the Influence

    Duty Upon Striking Fixture

    Driving on Opposite Side of Highway
