Franklin Couple Accused of Stealing, Selling $6,800 Worth of Items from Forest County Residence
FOREST COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — A Franklin couple are facing charges for allegedly stealing and selling approximately $6,800.00 worth of items from a Forest County residence. Court documents show Marienville-based State Police filed criminal charges against 26-year-old Alaina Irene Haffey and 29-year-old Jacob Dean Donald Baker, both of Franklin, in District Judge Daniel Miller’s office on Monday, July 1.

OC Catholic pastor celebrating last Masses here this weekend
The Rev. John L. Miller will celebrate his final Masses as pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Oil City today and Sunday before moving to a new assignment. Last weekend, the parish held “Bittersweet Sunday” gatherings to bid him farewell. The Erie Catholic Diocese announced Miller will become the pastor of Notre Dame Parish in Hermitage and St. Bartholomew Parish in Sharpsville starting July 9. The Rev. Richard J. Allen will replace him at St. Joseph and St. Venantius in Rouseville. Miller, who has served in Oil City for seven and a half years, expressed gratitude for his time there, calling it a privilege and part of God’s plan. Parishioner Kim Fornof praised Miller’s kindness, care for the community, and dedication to his pastoral duties, including visiting the sick and connecting with parishioners. Miller is also known for his love of baking and sharing desserts.

Community Playhouse to present ‘Almost Maine’
Community Playhouse Inc. will present the play “Almost Maine” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, July 12-13, at the Oil City Moose Lodge. Allegheny Gnar is hosting the second race in the USA Cycling Downhill State Championship Series in President from today through Sunday.
