    Black bears spotted in West Virginia and Ohio communities

    Officials have confirmed the sightings from residents of black bears in Ohio Valley communities in West Virginia and Ohio.

    There have been spotting’s of bear sightings in Shadyside, Ohio and also Marshall County, West Virginia, in the narrows.

    Marshall County Animal Control said they were in the narrows to look for the black bear and to slow traffic if the black bear were to come onto Route 2 or into McMechen.

    The Marshall County Animal Control said they will not kill these bears and if you see the bears to not approach them but to call them right away,

    Marshall County also said they can’t confirm if there’s more than one bear but they hope they don’t bother anyone and they find their way back into the woods.

    In 2023, black bears were spotted in the area of Glen Dale Heights and the Marshall County Animal Control released a list of black bear facts that can be seen below
