NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Connecticut’s Morning Buzz Host Natasha Lubczenko recently met with Attorney Alex Mario of the Carter Mario Law Firm, and Lieutenant Edward Dunford of the New Haven Police Department to discuss fireworks safety ahead of the 4th of July celebrations. Attorney Mario clarified, “Fireworks are not legal in Connecticut, though sparklers and fountains are permitted.” Lt. Dunford, a member of the New Haven Bomb Squad, emphasized the dangers of fireworks, stating, “Anything that goes in the air, makes noise, booms, or pops, is illegal. Black powder, the main ingredient, is extremely volatile and sensitive to heat, shock, and friction.”
