Triple digit heat index expected Tuesday in Augusta County
A heat advisory remains in effect 11 a.m. Tuesday to 8 p.m. this evening, according to an "urgent" alert issued at 4:11 a.m. from the National Weather Service. Heat index values up to 104 degrees are expected in the valleys, including central and eastern Augusta, Rockingham and Highland counties and cities of Staunton, Waynesboro and Stuarts Draft.

The art world is in mourning after learning today that P. Buckley Moss died on Saturday after a short illness. She was 91. Born on May 20, 1933, Patricia Moss discovered her passion for art at a young age. Moss was dyslexic. She discovered her artistic potential and enrolled in a high school for the fine arts, and later, graduated from New York’s Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.
